I have looked at the forums and the guides and have not found a problem quite like mine - I may have found an answer here but would like to get a confirmation.

I am using DVDecrytor (Imgburn) to copy DVDs on back up DVDs for keepsake library. I bought Maxwell DVD+R 16x for the 4.7 gb and Philips DVD+R (DL) 8x for the 8.5 GB. Every rips fine burns fine no problems. I have a Phillips DVD burner Plays fine on PC.

On 2 of my players (a hitachi standalone) and a magnavox part of a TV, half way through the movie, they start to jitter, just a little at first and then more and more and then the picture starts to pixelate and then just melts together. Right after that happened, I took it to my pc and forwarded to the bad place and finished watching the movie on my PC. And also will play on my sylvania dvd combo.

This has happened with two movies. One on the 4.7 and one on the 8.5. I did burn them at their max speeds.

From reading here, I am guessing that maybe I burned them too fast? If someone can suggest something else, I would appreciate it. I do have all the free software that is mentioned on this forum and actually am having very good luck except for this one little glitch.

    Thanks so much in advance.

well since the dvd's were playing fine at start i dont thinks it's -r/+r compatibility issues
ho neil, i never burn over 12X, and i make it a habit not to move/copy files while a burn is in progress, ya i'd bet thats your issue fast burning causes alot of problems!

I thought that might be it also except that the DL is 8x - would I go down to 4x on it? and I don't move files or anything while it is burning either - actually, I unplug it from the internet and turn off screen savers - all it does during that time is burn
