DVD question

    I have two questions:

    1.on the front of my dvd drive it says DVD+Recordable and DVD+R DL
    only does that mean that mean i can only use those ones and not DVD-R? for some reason any program i use tells me to insert a blank DVD even though there is already a DVD-R in there! so far i tried nero, dvdsanta, TMPEnc DVD Author and another one.Everytime i went to burn something it kept telling me to insert a blank dvd.

    2. My DVD writer can write at a speed of 16x so does that mean if it says '1x to 4x' or just '4x' on the cover of a dvd when im buying, i can use it on my dvd writer? becaues so far i used dvdsanata and even though there is a DVD-R in the drive it keeps saying to insert blank DVD!

    Sounds like your drive is only compatible with +R media.

    Download VSO Inspector v1.1 or DVDInfoPro.

    It will tell you exactly what DVD Burner you have, what firmware and what media it supports, in full details !
