Hey dudes, nice site you got set up here. Anyway onto the technical jargon lol! I have just recently started backing up my dvd's at home using Nero6. I have also just gone out and bought a Philips DVP520 DVD Player. Due to money situations I am currently experimenting with Maxell DVD-R's and BUDGET DVD+R's, Unfortuantly every dvd that I have burnt off now have distortion (black lines) coming across the screen everytime someone moves, not good when watching you backed up version of driven, movement all the way. I have an NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A which writes at a speed of 4x, I have tried writing dvd's at both 2x and 4x and still the same results. I have tried playing the same dvd's on another dvd player in the home and no distortion at all, perfect quality, but why am I getting distortion on a £79.99 dvd player??? lol its confused me! Cheers for the help Bill
Are u dissabling the macrovision (copy protection) I had a couple of discs that did the same thing, I started using any dvd and clone dvd to "back up" dvds. Works great, allows you to get rid of trailers, extras and copy wornings and get better quailty on one dvd.
it could be maybe that dvd player doesnt like the media as you say they play fine another machine . is it +r's that are giving you the trouble or is it the -r's ?
Hey jonnygunn yeah i have disabled all the copyright protections. dlc2000 I have read my dvd box and it excepts dvd-r's and dvd+r's I have used both dvd-r's and dvd+r's but still same result. Cheers Bill
