Hi all, first post here. I have been backing up my movies for some time without problems. Until today i try using DVD 9's for the first time. As soon as layer 1 starts burning i get an error ( error log posted below). Using Win XP Pro SP2, P4 2Ghz, 512 Mb Ram (166 free), 64 Gb free on HD, Benq DW1640 (firmware BSOB),Nero 6,3,1,26 and Verbatim DVD+R DL (Singapore) discs. Any assistance would be much appreciated! Your Nero is out of date, current Nero is now 6.6.0.18. YOur media isn't being recognized, what is the brand you're using? You have INCD installed, remove it w/ Nero's cleantool. Then reinstall this time w/o INCD. Also mauby try DVDDecrypter, as I have heard that it is more suited to burn DLs.
Ok, you need to update nero. Vers 6 is now at 6.6.0.18, and your old version is causing problems like this: Your old version of nero doesn't recognize your drive. Nero Update: http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php Get package 1 and 2 but not 3. See, package #3 is INCD, and you have it on your system. It conflicts with Nero, and needs to be removed completely using the Nero Clean tool. Don't load it up when you update your Nero. It is not needed for burning. and there they are hiding in your system. Here is Nero's INCD zapper: http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/InCD_CleanTool.html Give those things a try, and see if they help. Your firmware is up2date for the Benq. The Verb DLs are the best ones out there, so media shouldn't be your problem. **edit** Ya beat me to it GlueEater
Thanks GlueEater and MaxBurn for your quick replies. Have now removed InCD and have begun downloading the Nero updates. As soon as that is completed i'll retry and let you know how it went. Thanks again.
Also, if you are doing a DVD9, you can do a DVD Decrypter ISO read/write. As long as you have some program like AnyDVD or DVD43 in the background to remove copy protection. AD doesn't have it on this site anymore, but this place has it: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/DVD_Decrypter/1011845169/1 It is a great program well worth having. It has it's own burn engine, and can be used with DVD Shrink also. When you do a DVD9 ISO read/write, select the MDS file instead of the ISO. Go ahead and click on the ISO file, and Decrypter will come up with a funny error message.
Update.....removed InCD and downloaded packs 1 and 2 for Nero as suggested. Retried burning and all went well for about 15 minutes before getting another error(log below). So then tried ISO read/write using DVD Decrypter and, smiles all round, worked fine. Think i'll just continue to use DVD Decrypter for all my DVD-9 back-ups.
