    Hi all.

I have just got my first DVD Burner - a Pioneer DVR-110D. I don't seem to have any problems backing up my DVDs to DVD5 discs, using DVDShrink which then automatically burns with Nero 6. However, I use a large screen TV and it tends to highlight problems with compressed video so I have been trying to burn uncompressed to Verbatim DVD+R DL discs.

I have burned three titles, ripping with DVDShrink (uncompressed) and burning with Nero 6. These copies work fine on my computer. However, when I play them in my standalone player, two of the titles (Batman Begins and Blade Trinity) have menu related problems. You can select a menu item on the first level but you cannot select a menu item on the sub levels, ie. special features menu, or setup menu, nor can you return to an upper level. There is no cursor, or the buttons don't light up. The third title, Butterfly Effect has no menu related problems.

I tried using DVD Decrypter to rip the two problematic titles (using the folders setting) and then burn them using Nero 6. Now, while the copy will play in my computer, the Toshiba comes up with a 'disc error' and stops.

All the orignal discs play without problem on the Toshiba.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Regards,

    Allan

    Hey Allan!
Here's my suggestion to try - use decrypter in ISO mode to rip then burn with decrypter picking the .mds file. The few dl's that I've done and from other members here decrypter doing the dl burn is the way to go.
I would also make sure that your drive's firmware is up to date.

I agree with binkie7. On the other hand, keep in mind to use high quality DL media such as Verbatim (made in singapore).
