dvd+r dl

    have a matshita uj-480d in my laptop trying to burn with verbatim dvd+r dl with dvd shrink and it keeps telling me it is the wrong media any ideas would be great

    the manuf. on it is hp and on the drive it has dvd+rw dl

    Welcome to the forum. I Googled for info for that drive and there is no info I can find. I have a feeling you have a OEM version so who is the Laptop Manuf. You might need something as simple as a firmware update or the drive might be defective. The drive does do (+) blank media?

    If you meant matshita uj-840d, good luck finding a firmware upgrade. I believe several people were trying the 840s firmware upgrade. If you do a google search, you'll see a lot of people who are having problems with the 840D. Of course if it is a 480D, my bad.
