I have a HP DVD+R 300n drive and each time I put a disk in in ejects it regardless of the type of disk. It stopped working yesterday when I was backing up a dvd using nero. It came up with an error message stating that it was unable to complete burning and since then I have had this problem. I have uninstalled nero and reinstalled the drivers for the writer but I still have this problem. The tray closes without a disk in it but as soon as yu put one in it ejects after about 5 seconds. I don't know what to try now so any help would be kindly appreciated.
Do you mean that you went into the device manager, right clicked on dvd drive, clicked on "Uninstall", rebooted after it uninstalled, let Windows detect new hardware, and install new driver for you? If that's not the process you used, try it. It helps a lot of times, but not always. Let us know how it goes. Also, have you tried different brands of media? What brand are you using? If above suggestions don't help, it may be time for a new drive. You can buy very good ones online for under $40. Good luck!
Yes that is what I tryed. Unfortunately it didn't change anything. I have been using datawrite disks for a while now without any problems until this happened. Looks like I might have to invest in a new burner. Thanks for your advice.
