DVD+R/DVD+RW Problems...Help!

    I'm using DVD Xcopy and my 1st two DVD backups were successful using DVD+RW discs. I was able to view the DVDs on my sons Playstation 2 as well as my Sony DVD player model NS715P.(My DVD writer is an HP internal DVD Writer 200j)

    I've just bought some DVD+R discs and, after two attempts at making DVD backups on DVD+R media, neither of the copies would play on any DVD player.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Sounds like it's your media. What brand is it and what speed are you burning at?

    the DVD+R discs are Memorex. I had to set DVD XCopy to use Nero for burning. I am sure that it's burning at 2.4X.

    I also checked, and the DVD+RW discs were also Memorex. The packaging for both the DVD+R and DVD+RW state they will copy at 1X and 2.5X.

    I went to Nero (I have the latest version installed) and the dropdown menu will only let me choose 2.4X for my recorder. For whatever reason, it will not let me choose 1X.

    try stomp recordnow 4.5 to burn the movies..
    just make a:
    VIDEO_TS
    AUDIO_TS folders and put the movie in t he video_ts folder and burn.. they will even play in an xbox unlike movies burned with nero, i'll update my guide this week to use recordnow to burn the movies..
