Here's an odd question. The UPS guy just delivered 500 DVD-Rs a day early. While someone would have been home tomorrow, the disks spent 5 hours outside at -5° F. Can DVD-Rs be damaged by freezing? I'm guessing no, but I'd rather not open them if they are messed up.
-5 degrees is pretty extreme! It can't be good for the dye or the plastic. This is a toughie. Because even if you do crack open a spindle and it burns, who knows the long-term effect ithe cold had on the dye. And considering it's 500 instead of say, a 25-pack...
