DVD-r help

    OK I have the Sony dru-500a and the problem is..

    I got to burn a dvd and my comp jams when I put in the dvd-r. I have a very high end comp with win xp..

    dvd-r I am using are maxell, thanks!

    When you say your "comp jams" do you mean the mechanism jams? Or do you mean your system freezes?

    Go point Ken, i would've assumed Freeze, because it wouldnt have occured to me about the drive. lol. Alteast someone is on the ball ;-)

    I ask the question because it happened to me. The spindles I buy have a little piesce of foam on the top. I wasn't looking (don't ask why) and accidentaly put a disc in with the foam on top. I had to remove the drive, open it manualy, and putt it out.
