ok my problem is this. i get a i/0 error message when i try to burn so far 2 movies, ive used 3 discs and all errors, all of them brand new fresh out of the box. i'm using RiDATA DVD+R 16x discs and my dvd player/burner is a dual layer 16x emachine stock. ive previuosly used taiyo yuden 8x DVD-Rs w/no problems. what gives? do i have a shitload of bad discs or am do i have my settings wrong? currently using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.
you switched from DVD+Rs to DVD-Rs..... it's possible that your drive won't accept the Ridata disks..... check for firmware update that might correct this problem: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php just put the name of your drive in there and you will see the latest firmware update! You want to keep the firmware of your drive up to date to avoid such problems as disk compatibility! Also..... don't understand why you went from GREAT MEDIA (Taiyo Yuden) to a second class media (Ridata). I understand that other members like Ridata and don't have probs but if you are using first class media why go down to second class media? And it was working for you! why the switch? Can't be a cost problem..... both will vary a little but I use the best- Taiyo Yudens ONLY!
