I tried right clicking my dvd drive and format and it still says no disc inserted, ive got 50 of these discs and cant use them, please help!!!!
your drive might need a firmware update to recognize your new disks. Media and drives can be picky! use better media! the ones made in Japan are the best. read the label and make sure it says MIJ on it! Verbatim is another top notch disk but make in Taiwan and the only exception to the MIJ rule. the next thing to remember is what your drive can burn! if you have an older drive it might not recognize newer media! even if it's quality media! so understanding your drive is important, too! example..... if your drive is over 3 yrs old then it won't burn or even recognize the DVD-R, 16x meida! you might get around this if the drive has a firmware update to address this problem! if your manufacturer has updated the firmware to write to the new media!~ so here is a site that will tell you what your drive is capable of: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php just put in your model # in the search and see if it's listed here. then it will show you what your drive is capable of doing. you can do the same thing to find out if your drive has a firmware update here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php good luck
