Specs: Windows XP SP2 NEC 2510A The burner burns the data on to the DVD. When I reinsert it to DVD Drive, on any computer... Windows notifies me that the DVD is blank. The contents on the DVD is blank in Explorer. If I run Isobuster... I can extract the data though. It reads other burned DVDs well no problem. This problem started when I took my computer apart. I only thing I did was that I removed the power cord and ATA cord off. I believe there wouldn't be any reason for it to mess up like this. I reinstalled drivers (i believe it was the firmare, but I am guessing drivers and firmware are two different things.) to try to fix it as well as my CD/DVD burning program. No luck.
This happened to me before, i think its just windows that cant read certain data formats, also check its not a dvd-rw (there problem prone). Open your case and check that the cables are inserted properly. Try Deepburner free its a good all round burner. www.deepburner.com Firmware is software that is not lost when the hardware is powered off. A driver is software that controls the hardware.
