hey, this has probably been asked before, but i really need help. i have a pioneer a05/105, and every time i backup a dvd movie, it never plays on my dvd player. i already tried my friends dvd players/pc dvd rom drives, and even ps2 and xbox players (and i checked the net and all says they play -r/-rw media) but i can't get it running for some odd reason. But it does play on the burner itself which makes it very strange since there probably isn't anything wrong on the disc.

    My computer is a athalon 800mhz, 512ram--
My stand-alone dvd player is a Sony DVP-NS715P--
    Using a Pioneer A05U

Any help would be great, THANKS

Actually, the fact it plays on the burner is not that strange at all. Most discs, however bad in quality they are, will play on a computer DVD ROM or burner. However, a lot of cheaper poor quality media will not paly on your standalone. What media are you using? I would recommend changing it to Ritek G04's for your Pioneer 105. I don't think you will get any problems then.
Also, try using DVD Shrink. A guide will be available on this forum in 4/5 days time.

use better media or take your backups and test them out in a store if ya can. Then buy the cheapest dvd player that can play your backups.
