DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 guide for newbies or those that are interested

<><> How to install and use DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.7 guide by Alkohol <><>

NOTE: this is just a basic guide for newbies or those that are interested on using DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP only.

WARNING: please don’t use cracked versions, DVD-RB Pro is merely $30 and to be honest, it’s worth every penny. I never used DVD-RB Basic; I went straight with the Pro version and never looked back. Please support Jdobbs for all of his hard works.

A big thanks to Jdobbs for creating such a beautiful tool for the few of us, especially those that values the “quality” of their DVD backups.

NOTE: a lot of people either use DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 or ProCoder 2. Some says ProCoder 2 is better than CCE SP, yet some preferred CCE SP over ProCoder 2 due to preference. However, CCE SP 2.70 is faster, there's no doubt about that. So the choice is yours.


<><> STEP 1: DVD-RB Pro Installation <><>

Once you've legally purchased DVD-RB Pro and Jdobbs has sent you a "setup" zip file with your "key file" via email. Click on the "setup" to run.
























You can either create or don't create a Start Menu folder.



Create a folder in your hard drive for DVD-RB's "Work Folder", then browse and locate the folder.






Create a folder in your hard drive for DVD-RB's "OutPut Folder", then browse and locate the folder.



NOTE: if you have 2 hard drives, then set "OutPut Folder" to another drive, this will run smoother in my opinion.





























<><> STEP 2: Encoder's Configuration <><>

NOTE: this is where you need to choose CCE SP or ProCoder as your engine.












NOTE: click YES here, but use the SETUP via DVD-RB Pro's Settings "Path to CCE SP NEW" to CCE SP directory.



NOTE: if you have Canopus ProCoder, choose ProCoder.














<><> STEP 3: DVD-RB Pro's Settings <><>




click on Settings, then Setup.









(1) click ALL (2) scroll down and untick ENGLISH or whatever your desire language (3) click SAVE






(1) Again, click ALL (2) scroll down and untick ENGLISH or whatever your desire language (3) click SAVE






Here you can remove DTS Audio or Director's Comments. The choice is yours.



Mode, Encoder (CCE), then tick on CCE Mode (or your desire encoding engines).
I like to use "One Click Mode" because this automatically does all the jobs for you.



Mode, Backup Mode (Full Backup) and choose your desire backup mode.



Mode, Steal Space from Extras, then choose whatever your desire (10%, 25%, 33% or 50%).



Click on Settings, CCE Settings, CCE SP, Advanced (Experts) Settings



Slide the bar to the right for more PASSES (or to your desire). The most I used is 3 PASSES because I don't have the latest rig, so 3 is good enough for me.



Now just click SAVE.





<><> STEP 4: Encoding process using DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 <><>

Click on the Folder to browse and locate your movie to be encoded.



Locate your movie, then click OK.



This is where DVD-RB Pro is going to put the finished “ready to burn” files here.



When everything’s set, click Backup .


Now DVD-RB Pro is encoding, so just relax and sit tight.



Now Phase II ENCODING is completed.



Now Phase III REBUILD is completed. Overall, it took 149 minutes to finish with 3 PASSES. Not too bad for my old P4, 2.66GHz, I guess she's alright.



That’s it, DVD-RB Pro has successfully encoded and imported the “ready to burn” files into the “Destination Path” folder. Just open up ImgBurn, Nero Burning Rom or your desire burning engine and burn your already encoded files.

One thing I have found useful and it will also save a step each time you set up a folder to be encoded. Under Mode, if you uncheck "enable output directory", dvd-rb will use the same folder for Destination and Work Path. All you will need to worry about then is location of the Sorce Path and Working Path. Destination/Output Path will be the same as Work Path. Put the Working Folder wherever you want the final product to be stored.

How's it going buddy? Nice seeing you around here, haven't seen you lately. Anways, I have it checked on "Enable Output Directory" and DVD-RB Pro stored that as my default Output/Destination for my "ready to burn files". I never messed/changed both of my Output/Destination and Work Path, they've always stayed the same.

Yes, like you said, all you have to do/know is the "Source Path" that's all.

Simply because there's not a single/simple DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP guide to be found here at AD, and if there is... it's way too confusing for newbies.

Yes, I was once a newbie and clueless about the install, setup (settings) on DVD-RB Pro in combo with CCE SP. And now, here's a super easy guide for all to enjoy.

I like to keep the destination/output folder on a separate drive from the work folder. My work folder is on my Raptor, and the output on my Hitachi. With both folders separated on different drives, there seems to be a small increase in speed creating the final .iso( i always output to .iso instead of just files)keeping one drive to do reads, one to do writes. Also, the Raptor is my operating system drive. If my operating system crashes, I still have my .iso on my Hitachi safe and sound. I realize not everyone has 2(or more) drives, but it is something to think about. Thanks.

That makes sense and I can see your point. To each their own. I for one have one drive partitioned off with OS and programs on one partition C:/. I put the sorce folder on the other partition D:/. I then save the output folder on a completely different drive E:/. I don't put anything except software on my C:/ partition. When DVD-RB is done there are no remains of the work folder in the output folder if you do as I described previously.

I installed everything correctly by what the guide told me too but I got the following error:

C:/where I installed CCE SP PRO/D2VAVS\item.ecl is not a ECL for CCE SP Trial Version.

Does anyone know what I've done wrong? Before I forget I used DVD Rebuilder (v 0.98.1). I understand its not the version in the guide (I know its the free one, just wanted to try the free one before paying for the other one without feeling like I wasted my money) I hope I but my issues in a clear way for people to understand me....

Show us your paths in the set up screen.

 

First thing I noticed is when I went to choose in encoder I don't have CCE basic Trail like the guide I have CCE Sp Trial Version.

Also in the step up I have CCE Sp Trial version\cctspt.exe under Path to CCP SP (new) not like in the guide.

Not sure what else I should mention to help you help me.

That's odd. A question here, are u using DVD-RB Pro or Basic?

So you saying you don't have this?



The trial should be just right above the CCE SP Retail Version

 

I don't have CCE Basic Trial like you have in the"Select Destination Location" pic you have shown mine says CCE SP Trial. Also in the "Select Components" I have selected the same on you have in the guide.

 

Also under "General SetUp"--Path to CCE SP (New) your program says cctsp.exe mine says cctspt.exe

Your path to CCE SP (New) needs to look just like this.



The trial version of CCE SP will leave a watermark. I recommend trying dvd-rb with hc encoder and after you see what excellent results can be achieved with this software, purchase CCE Basic which uses the same basic encoding engine as SP.

You can only make two passes with Basic but I seldom do more than two passes anyway. I do do three once in a while for large folders but never more than three.

 

I will use the hd encoder that you say to try. Thats assuming I still can't get CCE SP to work. And to answer you question I was using DVD RB free edition (0.98 I believe) and my file under that section ended it the same way as yours (cctspt.exe) but mine keeps saying trial where yours says 2.7 .
