dvd reader speed

    Do the newer movies have something on them that makes it longer to read?
    I have a memorex 16x dl burner and it only used to take a movie about 20 minutes to read now it takes 30 to 35. It still burns at the same speed but takes longer to read sometimes longer than that, I only copy the main movie using anydvd and clone 2, firmware up to date, fragmented regularly, antivirus off. It takes longer but the movie still has the same quality.

    Make sure your running in DMA mode NOT PIO mode.

    Sorry, Newbie here. Trying to learn and help others. What is DMA and PIO mode? I have seen people reference it before.
