OK....new laptop..1.0 GB Memory. Dell installed DVD -/+ dual reader/writer. Also, ordered Plexor PX-716UF, which was recommended on these forums. Also order Ver Data Life Plus 8x Azo, etc. Here is what I want to do. What would be the easiest way to copy 1 DVD in the Nec internal drive to the Plexor USB drive? Will I still have to get my HDD involved or can this be a simple one to one copy? Now what would be the recommended software to use? Bought 1 Click DVD Copy (I know - I know). Have downloaded DVD43Free. Have P.One's ready to use if recommended. And would prefer to stay away from Nero, but will use if the group suggests. Any suggestions for this newbie? Thanks. H
dssxxxx, I would D/L DVD Shrink and use that to compress and then use DVDDecrypter to burn the .iso image Shrink creates. I would also use DVDDecrypter to rip the files to HD first.( the cost of both programs is ZERO) You will still have to copy the files to HD as I know of no program that can decrypt a DVD and compress and burn it on the fly. Just read it in the internal drive and then use the Plextor to copy the movie or use the internal writer to write it.
What do you think about burning software? Will DVD Shrink and DVDDecrypt take care of all my needs? No Nero needed? Don't like Nero..... Thanks. H
dssxxxx , As far as burning DVD's those 2 programs will serve you well until you go to a better program like DVDRebuilder and CCE but that is for another day. I use Nero and have no problems although I did not install INCD. Here is a free program you might want to look at but I have never tried it but the price is right. http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download
