What is the best DVD Recorder with a hard drive? I'm looking for something that I can use to copy VHS tapes to DVD. Also was to be able to record off of cable. Need input! I am very new to this. Currently have a Cyberhome 1600 that will be going back to Best Buy tomorrow.

Mostly I want to copy home VCR tapes to DVD. I would love to be able to copy the commercial VHS tapes and some DVD's as well but know I can't have it all.

I'm a total blockhead when it comes to all of this. What is the advantage to having the Hard drive in the recorder??

    Thanks

The advantage of the hard drive is that you can record lots of Tv programs onto it, then at your convience, edit them and record them onto DVDs ...
