I copied the movie Lord of War and the video is great. However, when I play it on my PC, I get sound. When I play it on my Lite-on DVD recorder, I get no sound at all. What have I done wrong??? The Lite-on plays all my other copies just fine. It seem that when I copy a movie greater than 2 hours, I lose the audio. I am lost.

What software and/or equipment are you using to backup the DVD and which DVD is it? What equipment did you use to record it, the Lite-On Recorder? If so a model number would have been handy. You haven't given up much to go on. What player software do you have on the PC? We might even need to know what media you're recording to.

Sorry. I used Intervideo dvdcopy 4.0 to do the copy. The Recorder on the PC is a NEC 3520A and the standalone is a liteon LVW 1105HC. The media from DVDinfo Pro is VDSPMSAB 01. Does that tell you anything? I appreciate the help.

Paste the entire Disc info page, I'm not sure you posted the right info. If you did, I don't recognize it. What brand sold it?

I've used DVDCopy 4 and not run into any serious problems with large movies. I have stopped using it for the blockbusters though since I acquired RB/CCE. It's hard to beat a true encoding app. Have you tried playing the backup on a standalone player other than the Lite-On? If not, try to find one and give it a try. With good standalone players like the Philips being inexpensive and supporting a broad variety of formats, I can't see using a more expensive recorder to play DVDs, even if that is what it was partially designed for.
