Hi All, I am considering buying my first computer (a desktop). Naturally I want to do everything possible on it - including watch DVDs. To begin with, I would like to go with a particular high profile commercial seller - but then there's the fine print... I can change the region code on their computers for playing DVDs up to a certain amount of times (less than 6). After that, the region code will automatically lock at the last region code selected. Do all seller's package deals do this? Why?? How do I get around this? It's ridiculous! My collection has R1, R2, R3, and R4. "Power DVD" software (version 6) doesn't circumnavigate the problem - I know from someone else. Any help most appreciated.
You can use zoom player. It doesn't care what region of dvd's you use. You can also back up your dvd's and remove the region codes with dvdshrink.
