Hey all So i've been burning my episodes of my favorite anime shows from around the world on dvd's for my own personal use, these dvd's i burned work perfectly in my dvd players at home and i have never had a problem with them... however, i brought a few of my dvds over to my girlfriend's place to watch with her and when i tried to play the dvd's in her dvd player, they didnt work, coming up with a message like "Cannot read disc", please note that they still worked in my dvd player at home. My question is will these dvd's i created using dvdlab pro be only able to play in some dvd players? because i thought that these were region free (other than NTSC and PAL, these are NTSC) and therefore able to play in most all dvd players. Or are some dvd players unable to read burned cds like many car cd-decks that are unable to read burned cd's? any response would be greatly appreciated!
Some DVD players can't read DVD+R's, but instead read DVD-R's. For example, I have a Toshiba that can't read +R's. Rip them again and burn them as -R's.
Most likely it's the media you're using, unless your GF's player is way old (over 3 years old more or less) when DVD+r were not that common. Some stand alone players are rather "picky" with the media they accept... Last but not least, your GF's and yours are same region players and the disc is region free (or at least compliant with the player region), aren't they?
