    Hi everyone ,
Newbie ? been using dvd shrink and dvd decryptor to rip/decode/burn my
DVDmovies for backup , know these programs are no longer updated ,tried dvdfab decrypter , did rip Madagascar which both of my previous mentioned programs were unable but found dvdfab decryptor very slow ...
Is there anything better ?? I guess i should not complain as it is freeware .. have tried other trial software and was disappointed .. and worst part was trying to get rid of them on OS when deleted , they always left " residue " Won't mention any names .. That's why asking if you have a software program similar to dvd shrink or dvd decryptor that you would recommend ie: easy to use /understand and backs up recent movies ( up to date )

    Thanks in advance

    kissparo1 ,
Welcome to the forum. You can try AnyDVD and CloneDVD as they both have trial versions and they are excellent programs but they will cost after the trial period expires.

For getting rid of "residue" after uninstalling programs, try crap cleaner. Do a google search for ccleaner, then download/install. Scan for "issues" should find registry residue from deleted programs, which can be removed. Program works well, has many other features, and is free.

I use Reg Mechanic and just ran it again this afternoon. It's retail though. Sometimes you have to pay to be safe. LOL I agree with Car.Mike on the AnyDVD. However you can be cheap and get just the AnyDVD because works well with most apps. I use it for all my decryption needs. I still use DVD Decrypter for ripping files to the HD (with AnyDVD in the background). With Shrink you can use the ripped files or just let AnyDVD run in the background and let Shrink do it's thing.

Have used the free crap cleaner without any problem at all. For safety, it backs up all changes and can reverse them if necessary.
