Good Evening to you all. My dvd rom drive won't read hardly any dvd's and when I insert a dvd it is making what sounds like a grinding noise. It is two years old and came with my computer. There is no make or model number so I can't get the firmware. The grinding noise seems to also make the drive sqeek, it may be passed it's date, but I have not used it much as I use the other drives. Does anyone know why this is happening.Many thanks in advance for any info.
could be the spin motor bearings is going, read head slide motor is going or something is in the tray area causing the problem.
