Hi folks i've got a compaq evo n610c laptop and it only has a dvd -rom drive. I'm using an external burner at present but would like to take it out and replace it with a dvd+-rw drive. Does anyone know how difficult this would be , and where is the best u.k site to find one . Oh and if anyone knows of any guides on carrying this out i'd really appreciate it.
Thanking you all in advance .

i personally think laptop burners are way too flimsy, i don't hold out too much hope of mine lasting too long, but no big deal as i swear by USB2.0 enclosures with standard burners inside - i won't be buying a new one when mine fails, will just hook up an enclosure. As to your question it comes down to cost (laptop writers are way overpriced) though it shouldn't be too hard to find a burner for your Compaq (assuming your laptop burner is fairly standard). i'm in UK but don't know many places that sell them myself
