dvd-rom dvd burner enclosure

    i bought a dvd-rom/dvd burner encloser to be able to switch my burner back and forth from desktop to laptop, but the enclosure has an ide cable and power supply but it does not have the third wire, is that for audio? will i need to find an encloser with a connection with the third wire or is it for something i dont need?

    if using usb than don't need 3rd external cord as the audio goes thru the usb cord as it does on mine
