DVD-ROM

    I know that this is a dumb question, and i know that DVD-ROM's can't burn DVD's by default but is there some way you can update firmware or do something to the DVD-ROM that can actually trick it or make it into a burner ?

    as far as i know no it cant b dont cause they dont have the writing laser it just reads....

    Different optical heads, so you're looking at different hardware. There's more to it than just the firmware and software. As pointed out, the laser has to be capable of burning. The answer is no. If possible, everyone would be doing it. ROMs are usually much cheaper than burners.

    Also I forgot to mention ROM goin back to computers 101 ROM Stans for [bold]Read Only Memory[/bold] soo thats y things are the way they are :)
