I am simply trying to save all my precious images to a DVD with enough space that it will hold many folders with many images.

When I attempt to do this it states that I don't have a writeable CD or it is FULL.

Can't figure this out. I am also going to want to utilize these same DVDs for saving our video creations from Sony Vegas to them as well.

Any ideas of what I am doing wrong. I am going to the file on our external J: drive and send those images to the D: DVD drive and that is when all or most images are copied and then it ask for a DVD to write them to. That is when I get the above mentioned error message. Please HELP ME PLEASE

on the key board hold down the windows key (it looks like the windows icon) and press the pause and break key, then release. a window will come up, click on the tab that says hardware then look for device manager. then click on dvd/cd rom drive that will tell you the model of the dvd.

DVDRW/IDE1008 and SONY CD ROM CDU 5211, Don't know what else to say. I know we have a few cd slots on the system. Only; I strictly use the one that came with the computer. The Sony is a external drive and the other I guess is the one that I use. Except we have One CD and one RW.....?

Are there any other ways that I need to try to save my images? Currently we are using an external J: Drive that is a acomdata USB 2.0? I would like to be able to get a back up system for our home computer? Any ideas?

You did not post what your firmware version was but I looked the drive up and here is the link to check:

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

If you copy and paste the images from the external into your my documents picture folder then they will be on the hard drive so you can do with them as you please. To burn them on a disc you would use your copy program, like Nero or cd maker and drag and drop the files and click burn.

I do have Nero. So, I can't just click on one folder and get those images sent to a DVD? For example...I have all those images under one main folder with several sub folders? Is this the problem? Do, I have to click on each image opposed to being able to save by folder? I never heard of this before. Even back in the regular disk days you could save by folder?

Go into My Computer and right click on the drive you are planning to use, then click on properties and when the screen comes up use the Recording Tab and make sure you have enable CD writing for this drive checked.

Also, is your drive is a BTC drive which can either take BTC firmware or has been rebadged under the I/O Magic name and this mfr has their own site for firmware upgrade for the drive.

Use Nero Burning Rom and just drag the folder over.
