I RECENTLY BURNED MY FIRST DVD. iI TRIED USING NERO THE ONLY FORMAT I COULD DO IS IN ISO FORMAT. AFTER I BURNED IT WORKED ONLY ON MY DVD-ROM BUT NOT ON A REGULAR STAND ALONE DVD PLAYER. WHAT FORMAT SHOULD I BE USING IN ORDER TO PLAY IT ON A STAND ALONE PLAYER? IS IT UDF/ISO? ISO? OR DATA DVD? I NEED HELP PLEASE.
Its UDF/ISO. However, you bought a +R/RW device and thats what may be your problem. Read my answer to Difference between DVD-R and +R. Basically more home DVD players accept -R than +R
That maybe true, however you will probably find that +r dvd's produced via pc/software based programs - are more likely to fail than -r discs. The format shoud not really make any difference but the way in which it was produced WILL. Nero is very hit and miss contrary to other users. I had to try EVERY method within nero before I found a compatible solution, my solution was just UDF only option - my LG standalone did not like any other option. I then changed to recordnowmax - no problems with this. These were produced on -r format.
