Hi, I have a sony vaio PCG GRZ615M. The DVD RW it has is TOshiba DVD ROM SD R6012. From the last 3-4 days it has suddenly stopped reading any cds. It is stil playing the movies on the DVDs but wont recognise any CD. I have even tried the system restore CDs which came with the laptop but it wont recognise them. I have reistalled the driver from the website and installed a firmware ( dont know anything about it) as well but nothing seems to help at all. I would be grateful if someone could help me. hi, I have read a few post in thr forum and done the following: 1. Uninstalled the drive and rstarted.. 2. It is connecte to the secondary.. so i uninstalled it and restarted as well Nothin happened at all. I would also like to add that the drive makes some noise if i enter the CD as if stoppin and startin again and again... does seem to be in a lot of pain.. Thanx Rita
