I'm new to this but, I just made a slideshow movie using Windows Movie Maker 2. It came out well and burned it to cd which plays flawlessly in the computer. Of course I wanted to burn it to a dvd and had to convert the files. I saved the movie in my computer as a avi file. I downloaded the DVD Santa trial version to transfer the movie file to a dvd file! All went well I guess. I burned the file to a blank dvd. I played it in my dvd player but in some parts of the movie it messes up. The sound and picture kinda mess up together, but the majority of the movie looks and plays great. I tried plying it in another dvd player in the house and it messes up even worse in spots, sometimes even stopping. I then played it it the dvd rom drive of my computer and it plays perfectly. I burned the movie two different times on two different discs and the results were the same. I even burned the file using Nero 6 and using the dvd santa to burn. Again, the results were the same. I anticipate using the Movie Maker 2 program more but want to have the completed movie files burned to dvd so they can play in my dvd player. Since I'm very new to this, can someone please tell me what is happening and what I can do about it to fix the problem? Any help would certainly be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Two possible causes: 1) media (some more compatible than others) 2) DVDSanta (results not so stable with standalone players) I would suggest: 1) convert the avis into dvd compliant format with VSO DivxToDVD ( a free program) 2) burn with Nero. If problem still persists, then you may need to try different media.
