I have been using super dvd creator to back up avi files. it is easy and has worked o.k. for me. the problem i started having is that the audio was not sinking up with the video. the audio would work at the beginning of the dvd when i started watching it but after a few minutes it would start to be ahead of the video. The longer the video played for the worse it got. So i tried dvd santa last night. it worked for me backing up an avi file of a christmas movie but then it did the same thing with the audio/video as super dvd creator. it wasn't as bad but it was still bad. I attempted to use dvd santa today and i kept getting a "dvd santa has encountered a problem and needs to close" message right after i hit create dvd. So then i tried to use super dvd creator which i have had on my computer for months and the same message came up for it too right after i hit burn. I am very confused as to why this is happening all of a sudden. My computer has been giving me problems lately and has started to freeze at times when i use programs (not when i'm on the net etc.) I defraged my c drive tonight and tried dvd santa and the same thing happened. Is this possibly a codec issue? and if so why did it work yesterday and not today? Are the 2 programs conflicting in some way? Should i uninstall dvd santa? If Someone could help me figure this out i would appreciate it. (Also I have the ace mega codec pak installed) Lastly if this does get taken care of is there any way to get the audio and video to sync up properly with either of the programs? Thanks
maybe you need to reinstall the software. super dvd creator has itown mpeg A/V decode and encode codec .you did not need to install the mpga codec. dvdsanta using itown codec too. so the two software can be installed at same time. so..maybe it is because of your source AV files. if you take your av file from DV-Type2 format all is ok, but DV-type1 is not recommend. reinstall super dvd creator maybe will solve this problem.
Intro: DVDsanta would crash as soon as I tried to convert a avi into a dvd. (The avi in question was a XVID with AC3 audio). Within the first few seconds after I selected create dvd the program would crash. Event Viewer told me the faulting module was xvid.ax. After searching the net and various forums, I figured out a solution that nobody else tried. Everybody would suggest its a codec issue and would tell you to reinstall dvdSanta or some other far off solution. I reinstalled the XVID codec from www.xvid.org (freeware) after I installed dvdSanta. Ever Since dvdSanta works like a charm. Installed RELATED Apps on my PC (without any driver conflicts) 1)Nero Ultimate Edition (Enhanced) 2)DVDsanta 4.0 3)AnyDVD 4)DVDdecryptor (I never use it) 5)Windows Media Player 6)DivxPlayer (complete bundle) 7)AC3Filter 8)XVID (reinstalled after I installed dvdSanta)
This is probably not related to the initial question regarding Audio not synching up issue. This is more to concur with what sheisty posted above to work! I am so happy I fixed my DVD santa crashing issue that I had to post this for other folks here. Problem was DVD Santa Crashes to desktop everytime I try to Create DVD button. You know..gets that generic microsoft error where it asks if you want to send report or don't send. And I have to tell you, I've used DVD Santa for almost a year with ease until all of a sudden this problem arised. I even tried on 4 different computers. 2 of them freshly installed WinXP to no avail. Fix: So what's the fix already dagnabbit..?? Well my coworker told me to install the Klite Mega codec.. (which I think would have worked) But I found something else here on afterdawn software section similiar to what sheisty posted above called the Xvid codec. Try it out people..!
