I had this program before on my old computer and nerver had any problems, but it will encode it and even burn it untill the end and says Error Trace, key,Asc,Ascq,Asclen= 5,30,5,a and it will play in my computer and start to play in the dvd player but freeze and thats it, the only thing that is different from before is I'm using DVD-R instead of DVD+R!My burner is a Liton DVDrw SHW-160p6s.

Has either one of you tried a clean uninstall and reinstalled the software?

Any major changes to hardware/software recently?

good news, i figured out the dvd santa problem. I set the burner speed to 2.4 and there were no errors. The only problem i had was the picture on my tv. it would cut out parts of the words in the opening credits. I have a 50" rear projection and set the aspect ration in dvd santa to widescreen 16:9,which is what my tv supports. Should i set it to fullscreen, or will that put it into 4:3 on my tv...if that makes sense.

Where do you set the burner speed? and whice one did you burn the movie off on the main menu( video files to dvd, disc image or dvd folder to dvd????)

yeah, it was burning too fast, so i took it down a few notches and it works just fine. I cant remember exactly where it is that you change your burner speed but in the burner window of dvd santa(after you finished converting your files to dvd format, if that's what you are doing) it should already have set it to maximum, so look for the word maximum and change it to a lower speed and you should be fine. And yes, i'm converting the files to dvd format

ok so i downloaded covertxtodvd and when i chose my file and went to convert, it says there isnt enough space and that there should be at least 4.2gb of space on my drive(i'm using a laptop)...isnt that a little bit too much space needed to convert one little file?
