From time to time I get the same issue. I am 99% sure that there is something wrong with the downloaded file you are trying to convert, but to make sure it is the file, try another converting program and see if any errors pop-up during the setup process. That is how I figured out that it was in fact the file and that I wasted X amount of hours downloading it cause it failed to convert on each program I tried.
A constant fault with the same files would indicate the files are at fault. However, on occasion I've had apps give me that warning and shut down because I had over taxed the system resources of my computer. A reboot and all was well. My advice is to reboot and if the problem pops back up immediately, then look for the problem source. Most often it's the software being asked to do something it isn't programmed for. I've had Nero do this on occasion when I tried to backup DVD files that had faulty structure.
