Donno what's going on, I've never had problems with Shrink. After the 1st analysis and DVD Shrink is showing the Compression and Navigator tabs it won't play a selected Track in the lower left view box. I've re-re-reinstalled. I have 2 DVD playing apps installed and codecs. VOBs play in Windows Media Player, WinDVD and PowerDVD. Shrink does show video in the Preview window while analyzing and during backup. Help me gurus! loaded: WinXP PRO, SP1, Nero 6.3.1.6
Hi RWG, What do your settings look like in edit-> prefrences-> preview tab-> Select DirectX video renderer? Ive got mine set to system default renderer. I also have the latest version of DirectX. DL DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx?url=/windows/directx/downloads/default.htm I suppose that would be the best place to start, although if it's working some of the time the problem is probably something else. Have you looked over at the Shrink forum? http://forum.digital-digest.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=48 If I think of anything else I'll let you know. Good Luck, Frank
Many thanks O Fast One! Read your reply and changed it from System default to Built-in software renderer. Tiz working fine on this new machine now. ...but I've always used System default renderer... later-
Thats weird that you would have to change it...I am just guessing that the system default renderer is the DirectX and I don't have a clue as to what the built in software renderer is. A renderer that comes with Shrink? I know I read some stuff over at digital digest about the beta versions having preview problems. I also think Jerry had some problems relating to his video card, using a beta version. Well the main thing is that you got it working. Thats probably why those menu choices are there. later, Frank
It's perplexing, I have my video card drivers loaded and DirectX 8.1. I may try reinstalling my video card & drivers then reinstalling Shrink.
I noticed the latest version of DirectX is 9.0, Might help, couldn't hurt to DL. Might save you the trouble of all those removals and reinstallations.
