I need help! I might have been doing this all wrong, but for a little over a year I have been using dvdfab 4 to rip and then using dvdshrink 3.2 to burn a copy. Its worked for a year, but now when I do it the movie comes out all jumbled. It starts in the middle of the movie. Can anyone help me, PLEASE! Thanks
Dvd Shrink does NOT burn. It uses another program (Dvd Decrypter, Nero, Imgburn) to burn once it's done transcoding. Sometimes this can be caused by inferior blank media and/or burning too fast. Use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Sony. Burn at 6x to 8x max.
I know I use nero but what would make it just stop working I just got a spindle of tdk and they have worked in the past I also tried dynex which has never failed me. It worked on Sun. And then started srewing up on Tues. Could it be the software
There's a problem with the sticky though, it doesn't give the option to burn the files as a DVD but rather as an IMAGE ISO file which is not what I want to do. How do we fix that? I want the end product burned on the DVD to play in a house DVD player after it's burned.
There's an echo in here.... - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/713929/4356998 Just pick the rightmost/uppermost icon in Imgburn - 'Write files/folders to disc', it 'builds' & burns the VIDEO_TS folder to disc.. edit- ignore my comment as i'd overlooked the title of this thread, and I don't do auto-burning, so have no idea what 'pops up' when Imgburn is called via Shrink.
It only takes a minute to burn after it's an iso image. Try Imgburn or Dvd Santa's Demo Version for free burners.
Imgburn 1) Free 2) Free 3) More stable a program than Nero 4) Free 5) Nero v 8,9 do not work with dvd shrink 6) best dl burning engine out there (better than Nero) 7) did I mention Free ? 8) booktypes discs (+R) easily 9) Easy to set preferred burn speed for different brands of discs
Sorry but I still can't burn a DVD with DVDSHRINK using IMGBURN. I've got all the stuff you guys talked about, I've done all the recommandation, but I still only have the option to IMAGE an ISO with IMGBURN from DVDSHRINK. It's the right version since I got it from here and I cheked it after.
So do like this : From 1bonehead You have found a newer movie that shrink cannot handle.Soooooo 1) decrypt to HDD with dvdfab HD (free version) Or use paid for version 2) process files (all) with fixvts 3) shrink files with dvd shrink, output as iso/image to HDD 4) burn iso/image file with IMgburn all programs are free Imgburn, free from www.imgburn.com fixvts, free from http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...ools/fixvts.cfm dvdfabHD free from www.dvdfab.com dvd shrink 3.2.0.15 http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm and a guide to use all the programs http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/494836 resultant burned dvd will play on stand alone dvd player
I thought it was pretty clear, I dowloaded the DVDSHRINK version from here, I've installed it as instructed in the memo. When I went to copy/burn a DVD I own, it gives me only the option to burn an ISO image with IMGBURN, it doesn't give me the option to burn the DVD as a ready to be use DVD that I can just put in a home theatre DVD player. I don't want to burn an ISO image, I want a ready to go dvd like I use to do with DVDSHRINK and NERO previous version to 8. Maybe I should just go back to using NERO 6, but that sounds kind of stupid to downgrade technology. In brief, IMGBURN doesn't work with DVDSHRINK if you want to do a ready to get viewed DVD on a home theatre.
JSaumur, let me help clarify things 1) Imgburn burns iso (image file ) best 2) an iso file is only a container for your video files 3) Once Imgburn burns resultant iso/image files to a dvd, then the resultant dvd is playable on a stand alone dvd player as in a HT system. The burned dvd contains video files just as a commercially manufactured dvd. Imgburn makes a playable dvd that you want (to watch on a dvd player) The burned dvd is not just a bunch of iso files. Hope this helps
Excuse me, I was repeating much of iluvendo's info. It completes what I was saying to JSaumur on another thread; programs that burn ISO video don't create the ISO on the burned DVD. When using programs like Shrink to create the ISO for autoburning with one of the supported burners, the ISO needs to be removed manually, whereas DVDCopy and Nero use a temp file that is erased automatically. (At least I think DVDCopy works the same as Nero. It's been a while since I've had DVDCopy loaded on a PC with Shrink. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me.)
Brother PacMan, you said far better than I ever could here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/713929/4361478
I am completely new to all of this so please bear with me. I just bought a Toshiba laptop with Vista and cannot burn DVD's like I did with XP. If I understand all of this - I need to download DvdFab HD Decrypter then DVD Shrink 3.2 then ImageBurn. Is this correct?
