I am new to this so maybe someone can point me to the right direction. I am burning DVD's with the use of DVD SHRINK & NERO with AnyDVD runing in the background. It was working great for a couple of months till today. AnyDVD would quit running in the background and would shut down DVDShrink after runing 90%. Is anyone running into the same issues? I am running NERO 6.3.1.20. I would appreciate any input.

    Thanks :)

Well your Nero definitely needs an update. This is the last good version of Nero 6 IMO.

    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

Does it do this for all DVD's or just one? Also, make sure you have the latest AnyDVD which is 6.0.8.0. They just did an update to the program. Could be some protection that is causing the problem. You can try ripping with the AnyDVD ripper, just right click on the redfox in the tray and then choose rip to HDD and make sure you have the box to remove blank or unreferenced cells checked. Then process your file with Shrink.

    Thanks for the help.
I was copying an older movie “The New Guy”.
I get the following error with shrink:

DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Incorrect Function

It happens after encoding, up until about the 3 minutes remaining then the error comes up and it's done. I’ve tried several other disk which I have backed up before and it still doesn’t work :( I also tried to uninstall both shrink and AnyDVD and I still come up with the same error. Well, after reinstalling AnyDVD, I did finally get a disk to back-up with shrink but AnyDVD still cuts out on me however, I did run a back-up without AnyDVD in the background. I also tried to rip with AnyDVD bypassing shrink but that failed as well. The trial version was actually working which didn’t make a lot of sense. So, I wind up also upgraded to the latest version of AnyDVD but I haven’t ran any test yet since I fell asleep downloading at 2a.m. I’ll try again tonight when I get back home from work. I'll let you know how that works. If anyone has any input on why this is happening please let me know. I appreciate your input. Thanks again.

I did try a different movie but I still get the same error. I did however uninstall and update AnyDVD but I have not tested or burned any movies yet. I drove home for lunch today to and updated NERO as arniebear recomended. I will give it a shot when I get home tonight to see if the upgrades I made will work. I haven't tried decrypter yet. That would be my next option if it doesn't work. I'll post the end result when I try burning another movie tonight. Thanks for help.

if it reads but won't burn it could be a bad burnner

Since you have Nero, just run AnyDVD and use Nero Recode. I have never had a problem using these two programs. Sometimes I have to disable AnyDVD when burning DVD+RW, other than that, Nero 6.0x is fine for me.

I have tried using TDK but have had problems with that brand. The only disk that works are Memorex & Sony. They have worked great for me. I didn't think it was the burner because my laptop is only 4 months old. I guess the NERO and AnyDVD upgrade worked as recomended by Arniebear. I tested it and I just got done burning 2 movies; "Click & Stay Alive" and they seem to work fine again. I'm a happy camper once again. Thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it.
