Moved to Nero forum as not a DVD Shrink issue. DMA is off on your burners, DMA needs to be on. Garbage pail quality media, get some decent quality media from Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden in the future. You are burning too slow, 6X minimum, but until you turn DMA back on for your burners you won't see any speeds faster than that anyway. Good luck with the hurricane.
I checked out the guide & the IDE channels didn't match up to what the guide described. So would I uninstall both channels and reboot?

You really haven't fixed anything I've told you to, the crap discs you are using may be the reason your drive keeps reverting to PIO mode and you are still burning at 2.4X.
The discs that I used were some Circuit City brands. I've used them before without incident. I'll pick up another brand. So, I'd also uninstall the primary ide as well?

I'm not clear on them. I've never had this type of problem. I did uninstall the secondary channel which didn't reset. The first one matched up as per the instructions in the guide that Loco refered me to. I still got a failure prompt. Would I need my pc to be online to acquire the necessary drivers to reset if bad media isn't causing the problem? Houston is still blacked out in many areas due to the storm in terms of the internet. I'm at a library until I can get back online @ home.
