I installed the latest versions of DVDshrink and Nero 5 on a HP laptop running Windows XP home and DVDshrink can't locate and use Nero's burning engine. I get a little message in red print telling me to install Nero. I tried an older version (3.1.6) of DVD shrink with no luck. I have the latest versions on my home PC running Windows 2000 pro and they work fine.
DVD Shrink > Edit > Preferences > File I/O tab > Enable burning with Nero. Just saying you have Nero 5 doesn't tell us much. An exact version number would help. You may need to upgrade your version of Nero. Here is a thread on another forum where people report which versions of Nero work and which don't. http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30800 _X_X_X_X_X_[small]The best information on streaming media recording. Sorry for not including that info. My version of Nero is 5.5.10.54 and the version of DVDshrink is 3.1.7.6. I have "Enable Nero" checked, but DVDshrink is still telling me to install it. I just went to Nero's website and noticed the latest update for Nero 5 is 5.5.10.56. Should I upgrade or not?
Nero 5.5.10.54 has been reported to work. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone. Updating doesn't hurt. I guess at this point it would be best to uninstall Nero. Reboot. Download and run the Nero Clean Tools. http://www.nero.com/us/631938356101755.html Reboot. Download and install the newest 5.5 version 5.5.10.56. http://www.nero.com/us/631933457317970.html Reboot. Try it and see what happens. No Guarantees. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]The best information on streaming media recording. The Streaming Media Recording Forum. http://p084.ezboard.com/bstreemeboxvcr[/small]
