dvd shrink dvds work in computer but not in dvd player

i have used dvd shrink sucrssfully many times using win. xp on my desk top however when i used it with vista in my new laptop the dvds played fine in the computer but i got a message that said disc error when i loaded them in my dvd player. am i missing a setting? everything is the same except xp-vista. please help thank you

 

What program are you using to burn?

At what speed?

What type of blank media are you using?

 

i use gateway laptop 320gigs hd,3 gigs ram, cable speed dvd shrink with nero 8 on vista and maxell dvd-r media......does that help?

Try Imgburn, a freeware burn engine.

These are not the best blank discs to use. For top quality burns, top quality blank media is required. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Sony.

 

yes but it burns and i can play it just fine on my computer just not on my dvd player and its a dvd +r rw etc.

 

Did you booktype your dvd+r disk? That could be the problem.

 

I've had little luck with RW's.

If you want my humble advice, go get some decent media; Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Use the -R format or if you're using +R booktype to DVD-ROM.

Burn at 6x or 8x max with no multitasking.

Have you tried Imgburn as Nero8 and Dvd Shrink don't mix?

 

This ones plain and simple..

i used to use nero 8 to burn dvd.. then it completes.. would play on the computer but do not play on the dvd player..

Stop listing to all those people that are just asking you to post logs and stuff like there.. Follow these quick steps!

1: Go to Mininova.org.. dl nero 7
install it and all that.. next

2: Forget thos dvd+r discs.. go to your local cvs.. and tet the fujifilm dvd-r there like 16$ onsale wit the cvs card...
then open up dvd shrink and go from there..

Easy and simple.. didnt even ask you to go read some dumb article.. cuz if your like me.. i need hands on training.. i cant just read somthing and belike : Oh.. great.. i know what to do no.. no...
And i dont ask for burn logs.. cuz i bet you half the people dont even know what all those werid coding stuff is.. Oh and i dont talk in riddles or tell you to get som tayo Yudien disc..all the way from bejing china... Just go to your Local CVS store.. they got like thousands of them...

 

Oh btw.. imgburn sucks.. i have that..

and everytime you open it up.. it freezes up like 80% of the time..

just use shrink or dvdfab

If it were me and I had to choose, I would probably go with the replies of the senior member (or member, don't want to leave out rtm27) but at the least do a little research on those offering advice before taking it as the gospel. Taiyo Yudens (the finest brand of recordable dvd) is made in Japan, not Bejing, China (where the summer games are held)
