Ok i've backed up several movies I own. But now my 30gig hd is reduced to 400megs. How do I locate and delete the files created by shrink and encrypter so I can recover my hd space?

    hi

if you use norton antivirus it takes over the recyle bin you need to right click on it and empty that out!

also if running xp pro turn off system restore in control panel and turn it back on!

    also empty your internet folder!

shrink files and decrypter files are where ever YOU save them to, each time you make a file (do you have a speacial folder you use?)!!!!

I'm actually posting this for a friend running pc. I run mac. I doubt that he ever changed the destination from the default setting. When he was down to just under 5 gig he tried it one more time. I'm listening over the phone. He said he chose to delete image after burn. It took another 4.7 gig and he can't find it. I think if I was at his house i might be able to help, but the translation of newbbie language is scetchy. Does anyone know thw default destinations folders for shrink & decrypter? Please bare with me I'm not much more savy about pc than a newbbie myself. He also said his desktop doesn't have a recycle bin on it which baffles me. Thanks

the default is C:\, then there will be a folder with the movie name,or whatever name he gave it.

    Rotary,
Thanks for the info norton indeed had the recycle bin. I don't know why cause it wasn't doing anything with it. Did Norton take The recycle bin off my friends desktop? and how does he get it back. We recovered 16 gigs setting in the recycle bin waiting for I don't know what.

    hi

yes nprton catches alot of people out there! you can turn it off! click the icon of norton by the clock and when the windows opens its in options i think? but it is there!!!

recylce bin should not of been removed!! so not sure there? how did you empty the bin if its gone???

try going to add / remove apps and click on windows app not normal apps and see if you can install it!

norton keeps those files for safety, sort of a double recycle bin effect?
