    g'day

    ive jsut downloaded dvd shrink and have tried to make a backup copy of monsters inc. when i used the open disk open, i got an error as follows

    "DVD shrink encountered an error and can not continue this operation.

    CDvdCSS::Read Failed!

    The reason is: Copy protected Error - THe read failed because the sector is encrypted"

    i then tried a few other DVDs and all got the same message.

    ive searched through the threads and guides bit non seem to encounter this issue. id much apprectiate the help.

    Im using a Sony DVD burner (DRU-510A) to read the disk. Operating system is XP pro, computer is quite new and should be easily up to the task. cheers

    Download the lastest version (3.0 beta 5).

    If you still have a problem try playing the DVD with your DVD playing software a few secs and then try again.

    People have also told me that this message may come up if you are using a DVD with a different region than your DVD drive.

    Finally you can first rip the files to your hard disk using DVD Decrypter and then encode them using the Open File icon in DVD Shrink.
