zachzchw, Yep, that's one way that works with Decrypter, Read ISO then write ISO. It does great with DVD-5 (< 4.36GB) movies. Now, did we delete Roxio ? Do it through Control panel and when it's finished, reboot to clean it out Let me know when you have gone through the "Black List". Pete
No, havent tried the x copy again. Ive just been using the shrink and decrypter. You know, the old why mess with success thing.
Hey! I've had success - yay! I guess Roxio was the problem. You suck Roxio - do you hear me? Booooo, hisssss.... You guys rule - thank you. Since you are all such smarty pantses here's another poser for you: whenever I am ripping a DVD with Shrink, the only time it works is when I stay with the computer and am activly using other programs. If I walk away and leave it alone while Shrink is encoding, I come back to a black screen that can't be revived and have to reboot and start all over. This makes no sense whatsoever. It should be the other way around, no? Anyone ever have this problem? Little help? many thanks!
rootsmoke, Of course we "RULE", you only deserve the very best Now that you're "in the groove", you are one of us - That means that we expect to see you back here, lending a "Helping Hand" with other "Newbies" - “Alrighty”, I heard you say, "How can I do that ? I'm still learning." We're all still learning - Hang around, read some threads, pickup some more knowledge, find other recipes for burning and pass them on - Like your last problem, coming back to a blank screen - (turn off your screen saver Also, check other programs that may come on, that generally is the culprit - I'll be over there, by the water cooler, just "Hangin' wid my "Buds', "Fast" Frank, "Doc" (fastest fingers in the West), Praetor and "The Cool One" Jerry. Just slide on over and say, "Howdiieee". Pete
Rootsmoke - From another Newbie, here's a tip I picked from a friend who was a beta tester for XCopy. Kill all programs you don't need if you're using anything less than a 2GHZ cpu or 512 MB RAM. Use the Microsoft Salute to kill unneeded processes as well if your using XP or 2000. I'm using a Dell XPS-T700r I up'd to a 1.4 GHz celeron with 512 MB RAM. I knock off Norton, ZoneAlarm and a few other processes and I haven't had a problem yet with Shrink.
Howdee Pete, Just got my spindle of Shiny top Ritek G-04s, You can see the quality! My A-07 does an 8 minute burn and my Nero is working again after much fussing and fretting. Burn heaven! I'm currently working on Nero burn log translations. Ahead should sell a book, I'd buy it. Seems like a lot of folks post them so I might as well learn how to read them. I can actually tell quite a bit about their burn settings, media, drivers etc. Cheers, Frank
(Damn there "Fast-Man", I thought you were a long time g04 man - it's OK though now, you're still welcomed back into the fold )
Hello all. Ive been using shrink and dvd decrypter to burn with, and I scan through all the chapters on my computer (and they all seem fine). I attempted to play a dvd on a buddy's dvd player, which is an emerson that he got about 3 years ago. We tried a few different dvd's, and they all skipped. The best way to describe it is, they pause, play, pause, play-very glitchy. Is there a "blacklist" for these programs, or could it just be his dvd player? (He plans on purchasing a new one soon.) Thanks for the help.(Im using a tdk indidvd 440 n, and Onid 4x mirror top media.)
zachzchw, Shows that ya gotta read the threads more, lol TDK would be my first guess to solve your problem. TDK is super for text, data, spreadsheets, jpg's and gif's and even DVD music BUT for video - BLAaaaaaT, be not-so-hot at all ! [bold] You have to trade UP to Ritek G04 or Verbatim. [/bold] Ask my Buddy, Fasfrank - he just switched over (took him better than 37 Horsefly's life cycles - an' dats a good, long time and a half, let me tell ya.) Make the switch, I can Guarantee ya it sure ain't a-gonna kill ya ! Pete Hey there Frank, Brush your teeth, thar's a-gonna be a Yankee-guy a-commin' up thar ta read your stuff an I wants ya to looks pretty )
Pete, are you talking about burners or media? My burner is a tdk indidvd 440n, and the media im using is Onid. Do you know anything about that brand? I purchased 50 of them from ebay when I first started with my burner, and I cant really afford to get any other kind at the moment.
zachzchw, The burner is fine, I've heard nothing about it. (That's good.) I've posted the 3 media considered consistent in their production of top quality media. You can bank on that media to be the best made. No, I don’t own stock but - FYI, Ritek makes 50 % of all media for retail sales, the WORLD over ! Download to see who Mfgs your media (also good to determine your drives condition.) http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ "p" BTW, Either you might not think about it OR you don't care, but when a member spends his own time answering a question of yours just to see the exact same question a minute later on another thread, the feeling that you don't care about him, his time, or what he knows any more than some dog crap you might have gotten on your shoes isn't the way to make friends. (and, Oh yea, for the time I spent answering your questions, - - you're welcome )
Pete, I seem to have offended you.... I did thank you for the help in a previous post, I appreciate it very much....... my media is manufactured by ONIDTECH- Ive never heard of them, but they were at the best price, so I went ahead and got them. As for posting the same thing twice, Im sorry about that- like I said, I thought it might be a better way to get the question answered, didnt know you read both........
Hi zach, Would you believe that many of us here look at almost all the threads in our areas of interest? Pete is interested in a lot of areas! It does seem like the thing to do when you have a problem you want to solve, but just imagine what this place would look like if everyone posted the same questions two or three times. You are not the first and won't be the last! I also think you will find starting a new thread is more likely to get your question or problem answered quickly. I would urge anyone who has a question to not tack it on at the end of a thread but to start a new thread. Cheers, Frank BTW I would take Pete's advice on media: "best price" sounds like a failed burn, IMO.
Okay. I wont post twice again. But as for the question- could it just be his dvd player, since it is an older model? We tried one dvd that was made with the same programs on a playstation and it worked fine.
Hi Zack, Thats interesting, my ps2 skips and freezes with Memorex -R, but plays the +Rs without problems. My Emerson EWD-7003 plays everything I put in it. I have switched to Ritek G-04 -R for flawless hi-speed burning. You can find them on-line for less than $1.00 each at a bunch of places. Just do a Google search for Ritek media. Finding the right media that plays well in the majority of players is a challenge. You can always look here for information regarding player/media compatability: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php Cheers, Frank Pete, It took me a while to switch to the Ritek cause I had to use up about 60 Memorex +Rs. I still have about 30 left, also have a bunch of Memorex -Rs, Maxell +Rs and some expensive Verbatim -Rs, the kind that look like a movie reel. And a few assorted RWs!
Hi there Pete, Frank and others. I don't know what Memorex was thinking when they started buying those CMC-MAG blanks and using their name on them. Glad I only have a couple of them left in -R. Only buy the good Ritek now. Haven't been on much last couple of days, My computer caught the bug. Damn worms got through my ISP's filters and mine. My Xp system started doing all kinds of crazy things. I thought it was XP. I had 3 versions of Trojan on here. Its not too hard to kill them nasty things, just a pain. Hope I got them all. Later Jerry
