Hello Just read the site guides for copying DVDs using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter - bit confused as it says if the disc size is less than 4.7GB to use DVD Decrypter but I guess you can still use DVD Shrink - it's just that there will be zero compression? So the question is when would/should you use DVD Decrypter???
Decrypter is used to rip movies to the HD. The ones that Shrink can't decrypt on it's own. Than you can use shrink to back the movie up to blank media disk.
Thanks I did try ripping a film to my hard drive (using decrypter) and then burning to DVD using Nero but it said (in the site guide) I should expect a .DVD file which I don't. I get a whole bunch of files none of which I seem to be able to click and drag into Nero?? I can't see how DVD Shrink can do this task either?
rip the movie to your hard drive useing Decrypter.,than open shrink, click open file. find the video file. let shrink decode the file, then click back up. Be sure to tell shrink what drive your blank media is in. http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial007.html Scuba pete can tell you better than I can
I wasnt aware that you can use DVD SHRINK to back up a movie onto blank media, surely you back it to the hard drive with SHRINK then burn the image to the blank media with DECRYPTER or whatever. Im not trying to be a smartarse here by the way, I was just wondering am im missing something about shrink.
You are right Sir SDempsey. Dvd Shrink does not burn dvds, it only backs it up. Dvd Shrink uses Nero and DVD Decrypter to burn it automatically. If you want Nero to burn it later then you can use using Nero Recode. DVD Decrypter is used a lot for breaking the new security features on some dvds. DVD Shrink can not break it initially.
