I am having a problem with only a few DVD's when I try to burn them to the hard disk. I get an error message in DVD Shrink that says:

    Invalid DVD Navigation Signature

    Please help! Thanks.

DVD Shrink cannot handle some of the newer copyright protection on its own, neither can DVD Decrypter. You can use DVD Decrypter with the help of a PSL2 plugin in PgcEdit though. Here is a guide with pictures that looks confusing at first but, its so simple. I can almost bet the DVD's you are having problems with are "Stealth", "Madagascar", "War of the Worlds", etc. If so, give this method a try. (Best part is, its all free programs!) - http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56831

Thanks a bunch! I was having a problem with Bewitched, as well as Stealth, but I just used DVDFab Decrypter to copy Bewitched, and now I'm using DVD shrink to open those files like I would any dvd, and it seems to have worked just fine!

I have another question... I have an Insignia DVD/VCR recorder, and I record hockey games all the time off the tv. I have been using Memorex DVD-R to record the games and they work fine. I just bought some Memorex DVD+R and I put the blank one in the recorder to record and it asked me to initialize it. I did that, but when I go to set a Timer Recording, it says that it's unrecordable. What's up with that?!

Is the disc scratched or dirty. This can sometime cause this issue. Maybe exchange it for a different disc.

Make sure that you have the latest version of DVDFAB 2.9.6.2

I have a question and I cant seem to find any anwsers for why this is happening. I use DVD shrink to encode my dvd and then NERO to burn it. Sometimes it works fine and the burn is flawless and then other times while it seems to burn correct The dvd movies breaks up into pieces while im watching it and jams. My question is why is this happening? Is it the software im using or the blank DVD's or my burner. I have a brand new XPS Dell pc and im using "Verbatim White inkjet printable DVD +R Disks 16x 4.7 GB" I really am at a loss here and i have no idea how to correct this problem. Sometimes ill examine the disc and see there is dark spots that look like it it is missing when burning. But i cant understand why its not burning correctly its a brand new burner and pc

I might not be the burner or the blank media that you are using but the speed at which you are burning on it. It is not recommended to burn more than 4X. Also make sure that your firmware is up to date on your burner. You can check it here at www.rpc1.org .

Thanks for the info, im going to try and slow down the burn which i didnt know till now was set at maximum. Does anyone have any feedback on Verbatim blank disks. since thats what i use to burn, anyone prefer any better brands or verbatim types ideal for dvd shrink and nero burning?

Make sure that you have enough space on your HDD to complete the backup, you need at least 4.5 gigs of free space to complete the project with DVD Shrink.

I would not think that that is the reason. I've used that combination several times with great results.

I think 1st is media, target size, and burn speed. Tell us your process.

Hi LOCOENG right after 13% of encoding it stops and gives me the error... well i tried using nero it worked but it asked for a DL DVD which luckly i had a extra one but it just isnt as good as DVD shrink and when i played it... it works but i noticed some skips in it and i burned it on the lowest speed... someone told me to buy a new dvd player cause i dont have progressive scan but i dont think that would take the skips away or does it as far as i know doesnt progressive scan just make the picture better... Thanks
