    hello all,
i am having a problem with my dvd shrink. when i try to run the program it gives me the prompt that this program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down. when i click close it has another prompt that tells me that This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please consult system administrator. This program loads on my wifes computer(windows Me) but it wont work on my sytstem (windows 98 se). i have the latest version of dvd shrink. thanks in advance for any input you guys can give me.

    buckwhite,

Should work on 98 - says so on de web page -

If you are running Roxio get rid of it.

Uninstall DVDShrink 3.0 Beta 5, and then re-install it.

If the problem still persists, go to msconfig and turn all your starting programs off -

(Or come back here and tell us what kind of system you have.)

Lastly, make sure your source disc is free from blemishes and your destination media is of top grade -

    Luck,
    "P"

you probably clicked the deep analysis button. it adds 40 minutes and will analyze the disc and then back it up.

if i remember correctly, when i inserted the disk i opened it using the button at the top left corner. this started the movie in a small window(inside shrink) it was going approx 4.5X. when it completed this i clicked backup and did the deep analysis(took about 40 mins), but when it completed the deep analysis it started the 4.5x playback again. i could tell a difference in the two. at least i think that is what i did because it was late last night and i will try and get it to work tonight after work... thanks so much for the help...
