Nero Recode 2 is written by the same guy that made DVD Shrink. That's why there is no longer updates for Shrink. In my opinion though, DVD Shrink is one of the best programs out there. That coupled with AnyDVD is a great combination.
what does AnyDvd do? Right know i am using Dvd Decrypter and Dvd Shrink right know dvd decrypter is working unbelievable for me and dvd shrink is giving me problems. and one last question what is Fix Vts
*Caution this ANyDVD answer comes from a technology challenged person* AnyDVD basically runs in the background when ripping a movie. It eliminates the copy protection from the DVD. When running with with Shrink (or Nero) you simply encode, select what you want to back up (i.e. main movie or ntire disc) click back up and poof. All done. There is no need for multiple programs or running through other things to get what you want. It's so very simple that even I, in my technology challenged state, can run it without problems. Also, once you buy AnyDVD (I think 39 bucks or something) you have free lifetime updates and support. In my honest opinion, I love that program. Not sure if that helps at all though. Someone with more computer knowledge and tech-speack may be able to explain it better..
Cinch did a good description on AnyDVD. The Slysoft webpage has a short read on it. http://www.slysoft.com AnyDVD is kept up to date and when it falls behind new copy protection, it's usually just a matter of days till the needed update, sometimes only hours. RipIt4Me is a good app that is becoming a favorite, it uses FixVTS, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to backup movies. FixVTS? The factory adds copy protection that cause the DVD files to be noncompliant. FixVTS edits to correct the structure.
