I have 100% success using shrink to rip movies until today when trying to rip "The Great Raid". I am trying decrypter now. what is the difference betweeen the two? Will decrypter work?

Both are still good progs but the number of newer movies theycan do by their lonesome is decreasing since they are no longer updated.
Not free but anydvd running in the background w/ shrink will help. You can try it free for 21 days - http://slysoft.com
A free way to do the newer copy protections is dvdfab decrypter, vobblanker and shrink.
Here's a link for a great step by step guide w/ links to download progs needed:

If I can't get shrink to work is decrypter an alternative?

Yes dvd decrypter is still an option to rip with but there are more and more movies it can't do by itself. I fixed the link above to a guide.
The 2 main programs are dvdfab decrypter to rip with and vobblanker to process out the junk files so shrink can then handle the movie.

The admins removed guides and software that aided in "circumventing" due to laws that went into effect on January 1 of this year in Finland.

The link that Binkie posted works...

Here's a guide for anydvd & clonedvd - the 1st part of the guide deals w/ anydvd. Anydvd is bascially a driver that runs in the background removing the copy protection so it only needs to be on to work.
