Never had a problem with shrink and nero5.5 almost!!!!
Usually a complete copy and burn 35 minutes on my machine.
Recently made a copy that plays on my standalones but not on the sony burner I burnt it on.
Can't blame shrink for that. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the positive feedback, joski. :)

I just want to make clear that I'm not DVD Shrink author/developer.
dvdshrink is. I'm only trying to help him and his software users. ;)

Pity Dvd Shrink is free, cos I think you could generate alot of commission off your advice.....

    Keep up the good info....

p.s haven't had time to delve into the shrink world....yet....

The "shrunk" files should be saved/moved to a "VIDEO_TS" [bold]folder[/bold], making sure its name is in capital letters. ;)
For compatibility reasons, alongside the "VIDEO_TS" folder, you should also add an empty "AUDIO_TS" one.

I'm affraid we will need more details about your procedure, hm1.
What "mode" did you use RecordNow in (DVD-Video, DVD-Data, etc etc)?
Did you get a specific error message when you tired to play the backup?
    ...

Let us know HOW you used Recordnow, I use it all the time and fairly conversant with it....

Tell us your settings etc......just like British Rail ----- maybe late, but we'll get you there......

I can run it through step by step if needed, but you may just have an incorrect setting, let us know....._X_X_X_X_X_[small]Beware of the Pixies - they move in over night and turn your life upside down

Even with problems should not be expensive, use rw disks untill the bugs are worked out

RW discs can behave differently in standalone DVD players to DVDR

    Hi all

Well i encode the files using DVD shrink

save them as VIDEO_TS files but discarded the AUDIO_Files (0))k

drop and drag files to the record now DX page.

please explain this DVD data Vs DVD video stuff.

Changes the record DX settings (Prefrences etc) and basiscally burned the disc.

It couldnt be read by any other DVD player except my sony DVD writer.

I've read and downloaded all the manuals/instructions but honestly think of giving up on this who process.

is CloneDVD better to shring than DVD shrink.

DVD shrink struggles to shrink a 5gb file onto a 4.7gb disc

This stuff seems so long winded and confused.

I'm going to try again and i'll write down everything possible

Thanks for you patients and advice guys

    regards

    hm1

    ddlooping,

My DVDShrinks done with both 2.3 and 3.05b and burned w/ Nero 5.x won't play in any of 3 stand alone players I own; GE, Apex 1200 or CyberHome. Any tips hints or reasons why not?

Queer thing is if I run the DVDshrunk and Nero DVD-Vidreo burned disc thru DVD X COPY 1.5.2 they will play in all 3 players.

Is there a better burning program?

    Using a NEC 1100A burner.

    thanks-RWG

    ddlooping-

I've only used DVD-Video mode on a Verbatim DVD+RW disc. I looked at your tutorials before I posted my prtoblems - damm good tuts!

I'm using DVDShrink to compress extras to Stills and put as little as possible compression on the Movie. They all play in my XP2400+ computers.

    I'll give UDF/ISO mode a go.

    thanks-RWG

    hm1,
Use DVD Shrink for ripping, menu and trailers put at 10, uncheck all foreign languages and large audio. Then go back and select DVD and select the compression needed, a 9.2 Gig may have to be put at 8 or rarely 9 but you can get it down below 4.4GB to fit on a single DVD. - CloneDVD is a burning program, not a ripping program - try it or Nero for your burn –

    ddlooping ...and all,

Update to my DVDShrink 2.3 & 3.0beta rips and Nero burns.

I installed [bold]Nero 6.0.0.19[/bold] and everything is just hunkey-dorey peachy keen! Recording the Main movie only and all my reauthoring in both versions of Shrink are playing fine in my 3 players. I'm happy.

Now...still need some help. I have 150+ DVDs with the "DVD-BACKUP" notice that 321Studios.com X Copy and Express software puts on a copy.

Is there any ripping or copying software that will ignore the watermark put there by 321Studios software to let me copy my copies? DVDShrink chokes on trying to rip a X Copied / Expressed DVD.

    All help is appreciated.

nograde1, Roxio does not have a good reputation with DVD backupers (software conflicts, coasters...).
If burning to DVD-Rs, I'd suggest you try burnatonce, a free and user-friendly software.
