Trying to get DVD Shrink to backup a 7 Gb movie from my hard drive.. I have ripped the DVD to my drive... Thus creating 7 x 1 Gb files.... Shrink will read them and say it will be put on one disc but cannot write the files..I have analysed the movie from the hard drive..it says programing error and the handle is invalid?... What do i do ? anyone doing or trying the same?
that's all fair enough by i can't c a reason for the almighty dvd shrink not allowing me to shrink an already decrypted movie on the hard drive...... may b it's an update that should be incorporated into dvd shrink 3.1.7.......
Just out of curiosity Mikas - what did you use to rip the DVD files onto your hard drive...or did you download them? If the latter, it's highly possible that part of the download is corrupt. (I should say that it goes without saying (!) that if the files were downloaded, please don't follow this post up any further, as this sort of piracy is not condoned by this forum...) If the files are from an original DVD, why didn't you just use Shrink to decrypt/compact straight onto your hard drive (thus ending up with only 4.7Gb of files), which would have burnt straight back onto a blank without further compression needed?
mickas, I'm not sure I understand - you have flawed / corrupted files on your HD from a rip using Decrypter and you say - Shrink is pretty good but you don't really expect it to correct another programs mistakes - - - Ooohh, never mind, I got it, you were just kidding - LOL, Sometimes us old guys are a little slow on the uptake No suggestions here, can't do anything with screwed up files, Guess ya have ta look for the lost DVD and give it to Shrink from the start, my guess is that it'll breeze right on through - BTW - Whether you rip with Decrypter or Shrink, until you apply compression, neither will have shrinkage putting it on your HD ) Pete
open dvd shrink 3.1, in dvd shrink 3.1 click the "open files" box, then locate the folder where you keep the 7gig decrypted movie clicking on that folder if all goes well it should start to analyse the movie in the folder, once its finished click backup and your movie should be compressed for nero or clone dvd and fit on a dvd+r. mind you that you will have 2 of the same movie, one compressed and one not. enjoy
OK kiddies i'll explain another way i have dvd decryptor to put it on the hard drive, watched the movie with zoomplayer so it ain't corrupt.....analysed it with dvd shrink....pressed back up to put it in the selected folder...and comes up with dvd shrink has come up with an error and cannot continue.programming error-exception occured.....that's what happens.....it will not compress a 7GB movie ripped by dvd decryptor.... any thoughts????????????????????????????
Yes, Re-create the IFO's/BUP's using IFOEdit and DVD SHrink should handle it fine. Did you decrypt the mocie using DVD decrypter in Movie only mode?
