    how do I copy a movie thats 3hours long on a 2 hour dvd

    You need to compress the movie with something like DVDShrink or CloneDVD2.

    Lots of information at this sight about putting DVD9 onto DVD5's by compression.

    The time frame in which the movie is has no bearing on if it will fit on a disc or not. What you are worried about, is the "final" size of the DVD.
